Part of our success and growth has been mainly due to the people. So, we’re excited to feature another hard-working member in our Employee Spotlight of the month!

In this fun interview, we played 11 questions (including bonus) with Jana Pilato, who has been a member of the New Business Team for nearly 10 months.

Born in Connecticut, the U.S., she has also lived in San Diego, London, Munich and now finds herself in Milano for the second time.

Read on to learn more about her impactful role as well as her interesting quips and quirks.

1. What motivates you to wake up and go to work?

It’s a mix between a lot of espresso and my kid.  I want to be the best possible example for him, whether it be in my career, personal life, or building gravity-defying Hot Wheels tracks.

I’m also so fortunate that my colleagues aren’t just colleagues; they are friends who I happily hang out with even after 6 pm.

2. What do you do at our company?

I am part of the New Business team, which does exactly what it says — brings in new businesses.

Although we work with some inbound leads, we mostly contact companies that have never heard of us before to explain why we’re awesome and should be working with us.

Building rapport is essential in the first steps of the client journey, which is why I really enjoy being the first point of contact and doing what I can to ensure our clients are going to have the best possible experience with Wonderflow.

3. How would your family or friends describe you in three words?

Independent, scrappy, beer-lover!

4. What would you do (career-wise) if you were not in this current job?

I feel like this is a trick question. I would never want to be anywhere but Wonderflow, of course!

5. What’s something that recently made you smile/laugh?

I recently moved to the Navigli district, and when I showed my son where his new school would be, he said, “Mama, when you get me at school, we can go right to aperitivo.” (He’s 5.)

6. What’s the weirdest thing you’ve ever eaten?

I’m American, so at some point growing up, I ate fettuccine Alfredo and was led to believe it was an Italian delicacy.

7. Would you rather be the funniest or smarter person in the room? Why?

Funniest because “the smartest” would be a real stretch for me.

8. What do you pretend to hate but actually love?

Trash music.

9. What’s the weirdest fact you know?

If you put kiwis in a bag with apples, they ripen faster. Not sure if this is “weird,” but it blew my mind.

10. If you could give your past self advice, what would it be?

Make your own happiness a priority, and only good things will follow.

Bonus: What’s your favorite GIF that you probably often share among your friends?
